About TES
The
Endorphin Society (TES) is a Social and Educational group for people at least 18 years of
age who are interested in any aspect of BDSM, regardless of gender, or sexual orientation.
We have been around since February 1998 when half a dozen people attended the first
get-together at an inner-city Wellington cafe.
From that point we've had monthly informal meetings known as "munches" in the BDSM world, hosted many discussion/education evenings, play parties, and four BDSM mini-conferences 1998 to 2001 (we have not had access to a suitable venue since then). We were officially involved in the Wellington Fetish Ball 2007 and 2008.
Munches and Meetings
A munch is held in Wellington city on the first Tuesday of every month from 7:30pm. See the Events page for our venue and attendance ettiquette, and feel free to Contact us with any questions. Attending munches is the way forward to attending play parties and other meetings.
If you are uncertain about walking into a munch for the first time, we are happy to first meet you informally first to chat and allay any fears. One or two of our committee members can arrange to meet you at a cafe in the city at a mutually workable time (likely to be a weeknight or weekend). Contact us to discuss.
Other Events and Mailing Lists
Discussion/education nights are held according to level of demand. Play
parties are dependent on suitable venue - sometimes TES members will hold a party at their
own home, inviting people known to them. In the past TES or its members have organised and
other social occasions. As noted above we've had a formal presence at the 2007 and 2008
Wellington Fetish Balls.
We have a TES email list on Yahoo, open to any NZ resident. The list has reminders for events plus any information or discussion contributed by list members. If you'd like to join click here. In 2009 we have started up a blog, too. Many of our members are active on the BDSM online community Fetlife.
Most of the other NZ BDSM groups have mailing lists. There is also a NZ wide BDSM discussion list, BDSM_NZ.
